blog archive Sunday August 1, 2004 | Museum Outing

Ok… I know I’m really, really, really, really, really, late with this entry. Well, truthfully, I’m sitting in class, absolutely bored out of my mind so I decided to write about my museum experience.

August 1, 2004… sigh what more could I say?…

Haha… just kidding.

Well, Tiffany and I got to the Met at 12:30, where we were supposed to meet up with Diana, and then later on, my “person” (we’ll call him TN) . But, both ended up being late. Diana didn’t get there until almost 2 because of the subway. And TN didn’t get there until like 2:30. It turns out that TN woke up at 3am to find two complete strangers next to him, and another playing around with the alarm clock. I don’t think TN was in his appartment; he was carrying a “backpack.”

Anyways, the entire day, well until 4:30, I was talking to him… lots… I found out so much information about him, that I didn’t have to pry or stalk… haha … He even hummed, sang, and whistled to me! Invited me to his apartment too!

So, the detailed day…

Before anyone got there, Tiff and I were guess what TN would wear. We both aggreed that he would be wearing a button down shirt. I said that he’d be wearing jeans. It turns out he wore a Yankees hat (always a plus), a white button down, with orange Hawaiian pants (haha.. don’t ask )

When everyone finally arrived, we did the usual greeting- “hi…how’s your summer…what have you been up to… “ stuff like that. Anyways….

His parents had asked him if he was ready to grow up- so he’s staying in NYC . He’s basically set- he has a job already with JP Morgan. Which is great for me, because I’m going to end up in NYC for grad school and work… hmm… maybe it’s a sign. We walked around, and went to the special exhibit on Da Vinci and Rembrant realism. I didn’t realize this, but I got really really excited because I was talking about the Da Vinci Code, my favorite book. I was able to convince him that he needed to start reading the book again and finish it. I found out that his favorite art is Greek and Roman art. He has the most amazing voice—he hummed and sang for me!—a Billy Joel song called The Stranger. He also whistled it, and I told him that I didn’t know how, but that I was working on it. hehe… I complemented him on his singing, and mentioned that I sing at school as well. He sings with his friends. He also plays the guitar! And write his own music! I said that whenever I’m in the city, I’d like to hear him play. He said that could definitely be arranged (WOO HOO). Later on in the day, he said that the next time we hang out, he’d have us over his appartment to hang out! When we went to the modern art section, he was joking around with me, asking me what i thought about this one piece that looked like a ball made of gray rubber and junk. HAHA There was this one painting called The Living Room, that TN liked. He asked Tiff to get it for his birthday. HAHA. Because of that, I asked him when his birthday way. So, I ended up finding out his birthday. There was also a painting of a naked man (from the back) and he cracked a joke that he’s seen that guy at the gym. HAHA ( So, I found out that he goes to the gym- I could tell anyway ) When we were in the musical instruments section, I was looking for the crystal flute (ok, I admit it… I was a little too adamant about it) But I did find out that he played the trombone in high school. At the end, when Diana had to pick up his stuff, he went to go pick up his “backpack.” When he came back, I asked him, “what’s that thing that you’re carrying?” He said that it was his father’s backpack, and that he has been asking his parents for new luggage and said that he would tell his parents that a girl that he knows that she called his backpack a thing. (Hehe… that’s me! )

At the end, we decided to leave a the museum a little early to go to a nearby cafe. But it turns out he had to go, so I attempted to try to get his number… umm.. yeah, can you say spazz?! I was like, “um… so about your playing and stuff… do you have any information that I can keep in touch with you?” He ended up giving me his email address (but I did find out his middle name). POO! We had so much fun during the day! ( I know I did! )
